"Woodwork for Women" examines the work of Patt Gregory who, from her back yard in Mullumbimby, a small country town in northern N.S.W. has introduced hundreds of women to traditional woodwork skills.
Through interviews with Patt and her students it highlights the issues of real and perceived barriers to women in this traditionally male dominated field.
It addresses the role of woodwork as a catalyst form of empowerment and self discovery. The women find that the confidence and pleasure they experience in woodworking, which many thought was beyond their capability, translates into other areas of their lives.
